retalhinhos aleatórios

de Jeffery McDaniel.

Each morning I look in the mirror
and say promise me something,
don’t do the things I’ve done.

–

I walk up to people on the street that kind of look like you
and ask them the questions I would ask you.

I don’t wish I was in your arms,
I just wish I was peddling a bicycle
toward your arms.

We didn’t deny the obvious
but we didn’t entirely accept it either

Many nights the obvious showed up at our bedroom door in its pajamas
unable to sleep, in need of a hug

Stripped

The floor was covered
Clothes, shoes
Sheets
Layers of personality meant to impress
My makeup
Your meds

We lived in a room
With the world locked out
On a bed that smelled of
Trust and fear
Pain and love

Your chest was my pillow
And my arms were your sheets
Until the lights and noise faded away
And we saw by the shine in our own
Smiles and eyes

And when I couldn’t
Feel my heart or
Find the words
You made my body
Sing

We forced ourselves
Into ourselves
In hopes of finding something
We didn’t even know we’d lost

By the end the bed was stained
With our efforts
And our rewards
We couldn’t always tell them apart

We slept
Slick with sweat
But huddling close
To keep reality
From getting between our sheets

Perdoai…

Resta, acima de tudo, essa capacidade de ternura,
Essa intimidade perfeita com o silêncio.
Resta essa voz íntima pedindo perdão por tudo:
– Perdoai! Eles não têm culpa de ter nascido…

Learn TO Be Quiet

Franz Kafka

You need not do anything.
Remain sitting at your table and listen.
You need not even listen, just wait.
You need not even wait,
just learn to be quiet, still and solitary.
And the world will freely offer itself to you unmasked.
It has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.

Preciso aprender.
